Trig Modes

Switching trig modes: [FUNC]+[UP/DOWN]

Chromatic

• Chromatic playback of sample, or in MIDI mode sends appropriate note on/off messages.
• Trig and scale buttons make up a keyboard. Yellow LED shows C, white piano keys are lit red, black keys are unlit.
• Change octave: [FUNC] + [LEFT/RIGHT]. Octave is shown to left of keyboard graphic.
• Live record can be used to record presses

Slots

• Quick playback of all sample slots of track's machine
• Slots divided across 8 pages (use [SCALE] to cycle page) and 16 trig buttons.
• Live record can be used to record presses

Slices

• Quick playback of sample slice
• Slices divided across 4 pages (use [SCALE] to cycle page) and 16 trig buttons
• Live record can be used to record presses

Quick Mute

• Quickly mute tracks
• First 8 trig keys (lit red) mute audio tracks, right 8 trig keys mute midi tracks (lit yellow)
• Hold [FUNC] while selecting trigs will not activate setting until [FUNC] is released

Delay Control

• Set delay TIME parameters for multiple tracks simultaneously
• Select tracks to modify with trigger keys I-P. Only tracks with delay effect can be used (lit green)
• Set a TIME parameter using trig keys A-H. Each trig is additional delay, based on a ratio. The default is 1:2, therefore TIME is set to : 1, 2, 4, 8 ... 128
• Use [SCALE] to cycle ratio between 1:2 and 1:3.

Deleting & Clearing

• Files and samples: [FUNC]+[Project] -> System -> Card Tools -> File Manager
• To quickly initialize the settings of the Octatrack TRACK PARAMETER pages, press [TRACK PARAMETER] + [PLAY]. - Elektron
• Parameter pages: [PAGE]+[CLEAR]
• Single trig: Press trig again in record mode
• All trigs: [FUNC]+[Clear] in record mode

In live record mode:

• Erase trigs from one or more tracks: [EXIT/NO] + [TRACK]
• Erase all p-locks on playback position of active track: [FUNC]+[EXIT/NO] (doesn't erase locked sample slots)
• Erase locked sample slots of active track: [EXIT/NO] + [LEVEL ENCODER]
• Erase locks for a particular parameter: [EXIT/NO] + [ENCODER]

Audio Editor

• [FUNC] and moving waveform cursor snaps to zero crossing

Copy and Pasting

• Parameter pages: Use [PAGE]+[COPY/CLEAR/PASTE]. Effects pages can be copied/pasted between them. Repeat key combo to undo.

Text entry

• Erase: [CUE]+[EXIT/NO] or Copy/clear/paste: [CUE]+[COPY/CLEAR/PASTE]

Project management

• Rename/delete project: In the project list use [FUNC]+[EDIT] to bring up a context menu
• Collect samples: Copies all samples referenced by the project into the project directory, making the project independent of the audio pool. It can thus be copied to another set or another compact flash card
• Export to Set: Export active project to a different set, copying all necessary samples

File manager

• Reached from System - Card Tool - File Manager
• Access file operations: use the five page keys. Hold [FUNC] to see additional operations
• Norton Commander-style two workspaces - use track keys 1-4 to reach the first workspace, track keys 5-8 to reach the second
